Earlier this summer, URL shortener service bit.ly released a study about the highest clicked-though times for content posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Social media is a HUGE traffic generator, so I’m breaking down the essentials for you!

This would be a great post to bookmark for reference anytime you are planning to launch an announcement on Social Media! After all, if you’re going to post something, why not aim for getting the most possible eyeballs on it! 
The Best Time to Post on Facebook
Overall, links posted between 1 pm and 3 pm EST have the highest clickthroughs.
The single best time of the week is 3 pm EST on Wednesday.
Steer clear of posting between 8 pm and 8am EST, as well as weekends!
The Best Time to Post on Twitter
The best time to post on Twitter is between 1 pm and 3 pm EST on Monday through Thursday.
After 3pm EST on Friday, count on Twitter to be a ghost town again until Monday morning. Twitter is not for weekends!
Best Time to Post on Tumblr
Tumblr is a whole different animal. Take the Twitter/Facebook rules and turn them on their head!
Posts put up after 7pm EST tend to have the most clicks there.
Optimal posting times on Tumblr are from 7 pm to 10pm EST on Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday!
Especially with so many scheduling tools available for social media posting, there’s no reason not to use these guidelines to get eyeballs on your content!
